Feature Films

The female directors behind this year’s films take us to India, Iran, Uganda, Mexico, and many other places, revealing worlds that can simultaneously amuse, move, and challenge our perceptions.

This October, experience cinema that empowers: from personal stories and intimate archives to powerful tales of rebellion and activism, as well as works that surprise with their humor and a fresh, engaged perspective on the familiar.

The program explores the personal and the political, the visible and the suppressed—covering experiences we recognize from our own lives alongside those we may never have seen on screen before. In terms of form, the lineup defies simple categorization, featuring documentary, experimental film, archival footage, theater, fiction, and stories that freely cross genre boundaries.
