Intersection – It‘s political

INTERSECTION – It‘s political is a documentary film accompanied by an interactive mobile game that makes structures of discrimination more tangible – especially for those who don’t experience discrimination themselves. The game works like this: You walk through a city as a randomly assigned character. Depending on your shape, color, or pattern, the world treats you differently. You either benefit from privilege or face disadvantage. You quickly realise: This game isn’t fair.

In the film, we meet six people who fight for a more just world in their work, while also experiencing discrimination themselves. They reveal how the game mirrors reality and what it truly means to face sexism, racism, queer- and transphobia, or ableism. And how these different forms of discrimination intersect. Together, they sit at a table and ask: How can we – as the so-called woke, feminist, progressive bubble – find strength in a time when right-wing parties are on a global rise, marginalized groups are losing more and more rights, and many activists feel more exhausted and divided than ever?

INTERSECTION connects film and interaction: The game can be downloaded by viewers, allowing them to dive into the world of Intersection themselves. This playful approach sets new impulses for more productive conversations about inequality and calls for empathy in times of a divided society.
