Nine-year-old Zuzia, together with the director, sets off on a journey through time, passing through various female archetypes, family weddings and divorces, until they reach the place where the director’s grandmother grew up. It is now an empty orchard, and Zuzia is now 18 years old and the first person in the family who does not want a church wedding.
In a small village in eastern Poland, right next to Zuzia’s family home, stands the cottage of the naturalist and filmmaker Włodzimierz Puchalski. In the 1970s, he filmed Zuzia’s grand-parents’ wedding, just as he used to film birds. The 35mm film, which he gave to the newlyweds as a gift, lay at the back of a wardrobe for 40 years, until nine years ago, when it came into the director’s possession. No one had ever seen this footage before.

Małgorzata Mazur
Małgorzata Mazur is a director and director of photography, she co-create experimental and documentary films that have been shown at numerous festivals and exhibitions. She co-runs „Centrum Centrum” a cultural institution located in the allotment in Szczecin. She work in Film Department on Academy of Art In Szczecin. She graduated Film Image and Photography on the Radio and Television Department of the University of Silesia In Katowice.
